SYDNEY -(Dow Jones)- Woodside Petroleum Ltd. (WPL.AU) said Wednesday that it has awarded contracts to Bechtel Group Inc.
(BTL.XX) and Kellogg Brown & Root Pty. Ltd. for the basis of design phase of the Browse liquefied natural gas processing
plant in Western Australia state.

It has awarded similar contracts for the offshore component of the project to a
joint venture between WorleyParsons Services Pty. Ltd. and Granheme Pty. Ltd.; and JP Kenny Pty. Ltd.

The basis of
design phase determines parameters that will enable optimal development of the project, Woodside said.

The Browse
joint venture partners are aiming to make a final investment decision by mid-2012.
